Having successfully completed UBRacing's 13th car testing got underway at Bruntingthorpe proving ground. The car's first outing was a great success as the team were able to run a full endurance events distance and give four drivers a practice without any major problems. Most importantly the ATL racing fuel cell and compressed air cylinder (required for the pneumatic gearshift) proved large enough to perform their respective duties over a simulation of the competitions longest event. After testing the car was brought back to Birmingham for a thorough rebuild to assess any wear or damage ahead of FSUK. Unfortunately a problem with the rear hubs was discovered rendering them unfit for the rigours of competition. Thankfully our CNC Machining Partner - Mazak were able to provide replacements in under 36 hours, ensuring that the weekends racing was not unduly affected.
