Wind River Software Support
News - Sponsorship
Written by Alex Coignac-Smith

UBRacing is pleased to announce that Wind River has chosen to support the team with a number of licences for their Wind River compiler development software. Working in conjunction with software from The Mathworks and McLaren Electronic Systems the development of the TAG400 ECU is well on its way.

Continued support from McLaren Electronic Systems has led to a number of successful engine fire ups with the new ECU which is rapidly progressing towards being the main ECU for this year’s car. Development is now underway for UBRacing specific control systems.

UBRacing has recently formed a fantastic new partnership with Rainforest Graphics and Sureguard Window Films.  Both compnaies are run by Rob Hannon who is the godfather of one of our new team members, Andrew Mather. They have very kindly agreed to supply the team with all the graphics and promotional tools they need which includes: Pull Up Roller Banners, A Pop Up Information Stand and all the Decals and stickers for the cars bodywork.

We are very grateful for their support and they will definitely give the team a great visual impact.

Chassis Update
UBR13 - Design
Written by Mark Sawczyn

It is my pleasure to announce that this year’s chassis design has been completed and construction has commenced. We are very grateful for the continued support of both Duright Engineering and Midtherm Laser who have laser cut the chassis tubes and assembly jig respectively. The tubes arrived on Tuesday with a view to begin assembly next week.

The design was completed just before Christmas and is an evolution of previous years’ boasting a more compact design and a lower centre of gravity.

We will keep you updated on further progress and hopefully have pictures of a fully assembled chassis very soon!

In the meantime here are some pictures of the finished design and the early stages of construction.
