UBRacing were invited to an exclusive Garden Party in Chancellors Court at the University of Birmingham. It was certainly a garden party with something of a difference, as attendees were invited to showcase their luxury sports cars. There were a selection of old classics to modern day supercars, with a wonderful Ferrari 250 GT and a brand new Aston Martin Virage being displayed. The team attended displaying UBR14 in our Circles of Influence sponsored tents, next to the Aston Webb building.

There were also a number of famous faces in attendance, including Robert Llewellyn, famed for his work in Red Dwarf and Scrapheap Challenge, and Darren Turner, Aston Martin Racing Driver and former McLaren F1 test driver. Darren stopped to chat with the team about the project and took time out to get behind the wheel of UBR14. The event was organised by Dr Rik Bryan, a Senior Research Fellow at the University’s College of Medical and Dental Sciences. Dr. Bryan has been involved in motorsport, competing at Le Mans 24 hours 4 times and entering a number of worldwide GT series with Team Modena racing.
